ITS Help Desk Remote Help

Welcome to Minnesota State University Mankato Computer Remote Assistance

The Information and Technology Services Help Desk at Minnesota State University, Mankato provides direct assistance and remote assistance to your computer desktop.

To open a Help Desk Remote Assistance Session follow these steps below.

    1. Click here to start
    2. Click Open


       
    3. If you are running Windows XP you will be prompted to Run the file helprequest.vbs.  Click on the Run button.


       
    4. You may receive a Windows Security Alert if you are running Windows XP.  Click on Unblock.

       
    5. The Help Desk will now ask you for this five digit code number.


       
    6. Your request is now complete please wait while the Help Desk connects to your workstation.



      After 5 Minutes if the ITS Help Desk does not connect;  your computer will automatically close the request and delete the remote assistant program. To open a new request go back to step 1 and repeat the procedure.
